Cloud is a kind of network. In other languages, it is a location on the internet from which we can access all our stored data from any place as it virtually stores the data in a place on the internet. Now this does not mean that the server is only in your country like America. It can be in Japan, it can be in China and there can be many places, due to which our data is safe and secure. So, there are several benefits of cloud computing.

What are the different types of clouds?

  • Public Cloud – These are the clouds that anyone can access without much requirements. For example, G-mail
  • Private Cloud – Many clouds are only accessible within any organization, or community. For example, Infosys company has their private cloud which can be used only by the employees working.
  • Hybrid cloud = Hybrid cloud offers (public + private) cloud features.
  • Community Cloud – Services that can be accessed by only a group of organizations are considered as community clouds.

Here are some cloud computing advantages

On-demand self-service – It means that a consumer can request and receive sms to a service offering without an administrator or some sort of support staff having to fulfill the request manually.

Broad network access – Broad network access stands for the services that can be accessed from any location using any type of device at any time so you get wide reliability.

Resources Pooling – Resources can be any service that can be consumed by cloud users, things such as storage, memory bandwidth, virtual machines, and much more. So, resource pooling means that multiple customers are serviced from the same physical resources.

Measured services – Pay according to services that you use. For example, If there are 100 computers and a person uses only 50 computers for only 2 days, then that person will only be charged for that particular time & source.

cloud computing advantages

Rapid Elasticity & Scalability – By using cloud-based software we get the ability to quickly provision resources in the cloud as the organizations need them and then to remove them when they don’t need them. For example, if Amazon has launched the big billion day sales. Then at the time the traffic increases heavily on their site. So for that particular event, they request more services in cloud computing and when the event is done they remove their extra services.

Security – Your data is at different data centers, so even if a server crashes due to some reason, your data is still safe on many different servers at different places.

No maintenance/ Easy Maintenance – We do not have to do any maintenance nor there is a problem with updating the software, then we just have to use the services and we will pay as much money as the service we are using.
